W. Oliver Tobin, is a neurologist, with specialty interest in multiple sclerosis. His clinical focus includes:

  • Identification and management of Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis
  • CLIPPERS
  • Transverse myelitis
  • Neuromyelitis optica
  • Neurosarcoidosis
  • Neurologic complications of histiocytic disorders, including Erdheim-Chester Disease, Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis and Rosai-Dorfman Disease
  • Autoimmune encephalitis

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Tobin is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows. He was awarded teacher of the year by the Mayo fellows Association in 2017. He authors expert content and publishes in high-impact scientific journals.

Dr. Tobin is a member of the Ask Mayo Expert neurology knowledge content board and the multi disciplinary Histiocyte Interest Group.
