Eric W. Nottmeier, M.D., is a Neurosurgeon, with special interests in complex spinal surgery and image-guided spinal surgery.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Nottmeier is active in research and education. He has published 85 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as training residents and fellows. He has attained the academic rank of Professor of Neurosurgery.

Eric Nottmeier, M.D., is a neurosurgeon with special interests in complex spinal surgery and image-guided spinal surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He serves as Co-Chairman of the North American Spine Society Section on Robotics and Navigation. Dr. Nottmeier also serves as Vice chair of Clinical Operations for the Department of Neurosurgery and is Co-director of the Mayo Clinic Florida Spine Center. Additionally, he is Past-President of the Southern Neurosurgical Society.

Dr. Nottmeier focuses on treating degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine diseases, maximizing non-surgical treatment options for spinal conditions, and educating patients on preventative measures and treatment options, while utilizing the most advanced technology in surgical treatment of spinal disorders.

Dr. Nottmeier graduated Summa Cum Laude with a biology degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He completed his Neurosurgery residency at University of Missouri and his Spine fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Nottmeier is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
