Dr. Perez-Downes attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He completed his training in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, where he also served an additional year as Chief Resident. He completed his Cardiology training at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, where he also had the honor of serving as Chief Fellow. His clinical and research focus includes echocardiography, cardiovascular care in the renal transplant population, community cardiology practice, quality improvement, and use of artificial intelligence technologies to enhance cardiovascular care for large-scale populations.
