Biographical summary
Ryan M. Carr, M.D., Ph.D., is a medical oncologist focusing on gastrointestinal malignancies, especially pancreatic cancer. He completed Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology & Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in the Clinical Investigator Program. He is Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is currently Assistant Professor of Oncology at Mayo Clinic, Division of Medical Oncology.
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Carr is active in basic and translational research. He was awarded a Mayo Foundation Scholar year in 2022 during which he formed collaborative translational research efforts with the Integrated Mathematical Oncology group at Moffitt Cancer Center. His research interests include:
- Epigenetics and transcriptional regulation of pancreatic cancer
- Pancreatic cancer digital pathology and spatial bioinformatics
- Development of evolutionary therapy strategies in pre-clinical studies and human clinical trials
- Digital twin technology to study metastatic cancer dynamics for predictive oncology
