Because equity, inclusion and diversity are most felt and realized locally and in work groups, our strategic goals and supporting activities include:
One Mayo
- Connecting sites and shields. Includes MERG and data-driven learning. Our commitment Against Racism supports our 35 employee-resource groups, and every year we host an annual retreat of equity, inclusion and diversity practitioners across Mayo Clinic.
EID Excellence
- Achieving top decile results and stimulating equity, inclusion and diversity projects in the workplace. Includes EID advisors and resources. Each Mayo Clinic location intervenes when and where needed, such as producing a film of stories on racism that affect staff, the creation of a multilingual patient platform, developing climate surveys and enhancing early pathway recruiting.
Category of One
- Changing the world by improving global health care, including being an innovator in equity, inclusion and diversity. Includes Research, Education and Practice. Mayo Clinic’s annual conference, RISE for Equity, brings together thought leaders, practitioners and students from across the U.S. to gain upstander and ally skills and network. Our weekly EverybodyIN Conversation series helps Mayo Clinic staff explore challenging topics such as “Being Black in America,” “Thriving Beyond Disabilities” and “Reverse Discrimination.” Mayo Clinic is pursuing diversity research to further understand equity and its impactful outcomes.
