Eric M. Short has over 30 years of capital construction experience with a comprehensive understanding of the project delivery process from the owner’s perspective with an extensive background in healthcare and higher education. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Mr. Short worked for various owner-based project management firms as a senior project manager and construction manager. Most of Mr. Short’s formative career years were with The University of Texas System as a project controls specialist, construction manager and director, developing project and programmatic cost and schedule control systems, managing design and construction agreements, authoring construction specifications, conducting construction audits, developing project management and construction manuals, including training.
Mr. Short leads teams through programming, design, construction, activation and warranty of a variety of capital improvement projects ranging from $10,000 to $585 million and can understand, simplify and organize difficult and complex environments.
Since joining Mayo Clinic in March 2021, Mr. Short has already completed numerous international consulting engagements and capital projects, including:
