Biographical summary
Dr. Marysia Tweet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, within the Division of Ischemic Heart Disease and Critical Care and the Division of Cardiovascular Ultrasound. She received her Bachelors of Biomedical Engineering, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Minnesota
Medical School. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She also trained for two additional years to learn advanced cardiac imaging
techniques at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The research interests of Dr. Tweet include the study cardiovascular disease in women and acute coronary syndromes, particularly those caused by spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD). Dr. Tweet helped to develop and is currently active in the multidisciplinary Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program, was a prior NIH-funded BIRCWH Scholar and recent
recipient of a NIH K23 grant. Professional highlights include several awards including the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award and Women in Cardiology Trainee Award for Excellence from the American Heart Association.
