Biographical summary
William Hogan M.B. B.Ch. MRCPI is a hematologist and blood and marrow transplant physician, with specialty interest in treating acute leukemias, myeloid disorders such as MDS and MPDs and aplastic anemia. His clinical focus includes:
- Expertise in management of acute leukemias, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
- Expertise in management of chronic myeloid disorders, such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative diseases (MPDs, myelofibrosis), and aplastic anemia
- Expertise in management of blood and marrow transplantation, such as matched and mismatched related and unrelated donor transplantation, haploidentical transplantation (half matched transplant) and cord blood transplant.
- Expertise in management of transplant complications such as graft versus host disease
- Promoting each patient's understanding of disease and empowering patients to become partners in managing their health
- Discerning each patient's unique expectations of living with chronic disease and collaborating with patients to resolve issues and achieve balance
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Hogan is active in research and education, particularly with regard to enhancing our understanding of acute graft versus host disease and developing strategies to better prevent and treat this complication. He publishes this research in high-impact scientific journals.
