Biographical summary
Dr. Gurfinkel is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Pediatrics Division of General Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Prior to working at Mayo Clinic he served as a Medial Director of Pediatric Hospitalist Program at McLeod Children's Hospital in Florence, SC and was on staff at University of South Carolina. Previously, he was on faculty at University of Minnesota working as a hospitalist in community and academic settings. His professional experience includes working in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
His areas of interest include:
- Diagnostic evaluation of complex patients
- Dysautonomia, POTS and related conditions
In addition to clinical activities, Dr. Gurfinkel is involved in improving patient education and information retention. He is engaged in Clinical Informatics as a Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine's Super User.
