Biographical summary
Ram A. Pathak, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic Florida. Dr. Pathak specializes in Urologic Oncology and has special interests in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. He treats all disorders of the Genitourinary tract, including prostate, bladder and kidney cancers with special focus on nerve-sparing Robotic Prostatectomy, Focal therapy for prostate cancer, and MRI fusion biopsy.
Raised in Jacksonville, Dr. Pathak attended the Bolles School and graduated in the top 5% of his class. He earned a bachelor's degree in Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his Doctorate of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Pathak received his urological surgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida followed by an accredited Society of Endourology Fellowship in Minimally-invasive Surgical Oncology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Having grown up in Jacksonville, Dr. Pathak is uniquely committed to caring for the community of Jacksonville, Florida. His fondest memories from his childhood include visiting the Museum of Science and History, the Jacksonville Symphony and rooting for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Pathak served as a faculty member and medical student clerkship director at Wake Forest University and staff surgeon at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Pathak has authored more 100 publications, book chapters and medical abstracts. He has given plenary talks on genitourinary malignancy at national and international meetings.
