Alison J. Bruce, M.B., Ch.B.

Dr. Bruce is a Board-certified Dermatologist and a Graduate of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where she received her Medical Degree cum laude. She moved to the United States in 1994 and completed her Dermatology Residency training at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 2000.  She was a consultant in that department for 15 years, where she established her reputation as a nationally recognized expert on mucosal disease, specifically oral and genital dermatology, and women's health. With her transition in 2015 to the Mayo Clinic Florida campus, she spearheaded the development of the Mayo Clinic Cosmetic Center and established a collaborative practice with Regenerative Medicine.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Bruce is active in research and education. She is a Professor of Dermatology, well-published with over 70 peer reviewed articles, and several books chapters. She has also served as the PI on several clinical trials related to her areas of interest.

In her educational role she served as the Dermatology Residency Program Director for 6 years in at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Dr. Bruce is currently the Chair of the Department of Dermatology in Florida, and Co-Director of the Cosmetic Center. She is an ardent advocate for teamwork in patient care, is focused on supporting her colleagues in their clinical, research and education roles, is an active proponent of innovation in healthcare, and diversity in practice.
