A Global Study to Assess the Effects of MEDI4736, Given as Monotherapy or in Combination With Tremelimumab Determined by PD-L1 Expression Versus Standard of Care in Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This study is a Phase III, randomised, open label, multi-centre study assessing the efficacy and safety of MEDI4736 versus Standard of Care in NSCLC patients with PD-L1 positive tumours and the combination of MEDI4736 plus tremelimumab (MEDI4736+treme) versus Standard of Care in NSCLC patients with PD-L1-negative tumours in the treatment of male and female patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC (Stage IIIB-IV), who have received at least 2 prior systemic treatment regimens including 1 platinum-based chemotherapy regimen for NSCLC. Patients with known EGFR (Epidermal growth factor receptor) tyrosine kinase (TK) activating mutations and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements are not eligible for the study (prospective testing is not planned within this study). The Standard of Care options are: an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (erlotinib [TARCEVA®]), gemcitabine or vinorelbine (NAVELBINE®). Tissue Collection for Patients with Cancers other than Hepatobilairy Cancers with Metastasis to the Liver Rochester, Minn. The goal of this study is to develop a resource (bank) of biospecimens (blood, tissue) from patients having cancers that metastasis to the liver. The purpose of the resource bank is to facilitate studies on the pathogenesis of cancers metastasizing to the liver and also in order to assess the ability of new tests to detect early cancer in the cohort of patients undergoing routine surveillance for cancer. The biospecimens will include cultures of tumor cells and tumor-associated non-malignant cells, as well as xenografts established from freshly isolated metastatic cancers in immunodeficient mice. We plan to administer a risk factor questionnaire to facilitate identification of risk factors for development of metastatic liver cancer. The study will also determine survival of patients from time of diagnosis. Exploring the Role of B-cell Activating Factor Receptor (BAFFR)-based Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR T) in BAFFR-expressing B-cell Hematologic Malignancies and Autoimmune Rheumatologic Disorders Jacksonville, Fla. The purposes of this study are to explore the therapeutic efficacy of BAFFR-CAR T cells in BAFFR-expressing B-cell hematologic malignancies including large B-cell, mantle cell and follicular lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-cell ALL) using primary tumor and/or patient derived xenograft models, and to explore the therapeutic efficacy of BAFFR-CAR T cells in autoimmune rheumatologic diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis using primary samples and/or patient derived xenograft models. A Study to Evaluate Exemestane in Post-Menopausal Women with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) Albert Lea, Minn., Mankato, Minn. This study is being conducted to see if adding Exemestane to the immune checkpoint blockade can slow disease progression in post-menopausal women with non-small cell lung cancer. A Study to Collect Data and Blood Samples from Mayo Patients Who Have or are Suspected of Having Amyloidosis, or Their Family Members, for Future Research Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to create a data collection and bioregistry of blood samples from Mayo Clinic patients with amyloidosis, suspected amyloidosis, and family members of patients with amyloidosis. This information will be available for future research about this spectrum of diseases. A Registry to Collect Patient and Family DNA and Information for Anyone who has had Multiplex Testing and Gene Mutation Results Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to collect patient and family DNA and disease data to learn more about how changes in certain genes may be linked to cancer. Some people with cancer may have aquired their disease because they inherited an abnormal (mutated) gene. The researchers of this study want to better understand the risks that are linked to genetic changes in these less well-studied genes. By understanding these risks, it is believed that doctors will be able to give better advice to families with mutations in these genes. A Study to Evaluate Factors in Breast Cancer Screening Among Asian Americans in Olmsted and Surrounding Counties Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of acculturation, socio-economic status (SES) and place of residence (urban vs. rural) on the level of participation in breast cancer screening programs and on the breast cancer knowledge and beliefs among Asian American women in Olmsted and surrounding counties. A Study of HFB200301 in Adult Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to test the safety and tolerability of HFB200301 in patients with advanced cancers. There are two parts in this study. During the escalation part, groups of participants will receive increasing doses until a safe and tolerable dose of HFB200301 is determined. During the expansion part, participants will take the dose of study drug that was determined from the escalation part of the study and will be assigned to a group based on the type of cancer the participants have. Oligomets pancreas SBRT Jacksonville, Fla. The primary endpoint for this study will compare PFS between SBRT + standard chemotherapy vs. standard chemotherapy alone in patients with oligometastatic pancreatic cancer. PFS is defined as the time from randomization to the first of either disease progression or death from any cause, where disease progression will be determined based on RECIST 1.1 criteria and will be documented at each enrolling site with no central review planned. A Study to Determine the Effects of Activity by Ambulation in Hospital Premises versus Strict Protective Isolation on Quality of Life in Severely Neutropenic Cancer Patients during Hospitalization Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to determine if allowing patients to ambulate in the hallways outside of their hospital room by relaxing the policy of strict protective isolation in neutropenic patients improves the quality of life, and if this increases the risk of infection among these patients during hospitalization. Cancer clinical-trials
