Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

1. Agitation
2. anxiety
3. black, tarry stools
4. bleeding gums
5. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
6. blood in the urine or stools
7. blurred vision
8. change or loss of consciousness
9. chest pain or tightness
10. chills
11. cold sweats
12. coma
13. confusion
14. constipation
15. cool, pale skin
16. cough
17. darkened urine
18. darkening of the skin
19. decrease blood pressure
20. diarrhea
21. difficulty or trouble breathing
22. difficulty swallowing
23. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
24. falling
25. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
26. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
27. fever
28. headache, sudden and throbbing
29. hives, itching, skin rash
30. increased blood pressure
31. increased hunger
32. indigestion
33. irregular, fast or slow, shallow breathing
34. loss of appetite
35. lower back or side pain
36. mental depression
37. nausea
38. nervousness
39. nightmares
40. overactive reflexes
41. painful or difficult urination
42. pains in stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
43. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
44. pinpoint red spots on the skin
45. poor coordination
46. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
47. rapid weight gain
48. restlessness
49. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
50. seizures
51. sensation of spinning
52. shakiness and unsteady walk
53. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
54. shivering
55. slurred speech
56. sore throat
57. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
58. stomach cramps or pain
59. sweating
60. swollen or painful glands
61. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
62. tingling of the hands or feet
63. trouble getting pregnant
64. trouble sleeping
65. twitching
66. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
67. unusual bleeding or bruising
68. unusual tiredness or weakness
69. unusual weight gain or loss
70. vomiting
71. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

1. Blurred vision
2. chest pain
3. cold, clammy skin
4. confusion
5. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
6. difficulty or trouble breathing
7. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
8. increased sweating
9. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
10. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
11. sweating
12. swelling in the legs and ankles
13. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

1. Body aches or pain
2. constricted, pinpoint, or small pupils
3. cough producing mucus
4. decrease in frequency of urination
5. decrease in urine volume
6. difficulty in moving
7. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
8. double vision
9. ear congestion
10. frequent urge to urinate
11. halos around lights
12. heartburn
13. indigestion
14. joint pain
15. loss of voice
16. muscle pain or stiffness
17. night blindness
18. overbright appearance of lights
19. seeing double
20. stuffy or runny nose
21. thickening of bronchial secretions
22. tunnel vision
23. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
