Biographical summary
Houchun Harry Hu, Ph.D., is an MRI physicist and Professor of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to the Mayo Clinic, Harry has worked at the University of Colorado, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Harry also worked at Hyperfine MRI from 2019-2021, and helped deploy one of the first low-field portable MRI systems to resource-limited areas, including Pakistan and Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Harry has served as a Deputy Editor for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Radiology. Harry is also a member of the Editorial Board for Magnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine. Harry’s research interests are in pediatric MRI, fast data acquisition and reconstruction techniques, and quantitative MRI. He has authored more than 100+ peer reviewed papers, 10 book chapters, lectures frequently for RAD-Aid, and holds two USA patents in MRI technology.
