Biographical summary
Jennifer Gonzalez, Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A, is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Audiology, Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and an Assistant Professor of Audiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. In 2022, Dr. Gonzalez was accepted to the Mayo Clinic Academy of Educational Excellence, the result of her strong commitment to education and demonstration of excellence in teaching. She also serves as the Medical Director for Audiology Externship and Clinical Rotations Programs at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Dr. Gonzalez earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences) degrees from the University of Connecticut. Her research and clinical interests focus on central auditory processing; neurodiagnostic applications of auditory evoked responses, including auditory brainstem response, middle latency response, and cortical auditory evoked potentials; and traditional and non-traditional applications of amplification and assistive listening device strategies for the management of central auditory processing disorders and deficits. As the central nervous system is such an integral part of all that is experienced in the auditory and vestibular domains, Dr. Gonzalez's specific expertise in and understanding of central auditory processing crosses into many specialties within the field of audiology and into other fields, including neurology, neuropsychology, speech-language pathology, cognitive neuroscience, psychology, otology, neurotology, and exercise science.
