Biographical summary
John J. Dillon, M.D., M.S., is a board-certified Nephrologist, a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, and an Associate Professor of Medicine. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition to his M.D., he has a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Dillon serves as the Director of Mayo Clinic Dialysis Services, the Medical Director of Mayo Clinic Hospital inpatient dialysis, Mayo-Owatonna dialysis, and Rochester DaVita dialysis. He is a past Nephrology Hospital Practice Chair, Peritoneal Dialysis Medical Director, and Director of the Nephrology ICU interest group. He has extensive experience in dialysis, acute and chronic renal failure, glomerular diseases, ICU nephrology, electrolyte disorders, and quantitative analysis. His recent research has focused on using artificial intelligence to measure blood potassium levels non-invasively using the surface electrocardiogram.
