Christopher C. DeStephano, M.D., M.P.H.

Christopher C. DeStephano, M.D., is a gynecologist at Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville, Florida who specializes in minimally invasive surgery. His areas of expertise include providing care to patients with gynecological disorders, and diagnosing and treating menstrual conditions by developing a personalized care plan for each individual patient. His clinical interests include menstrual disorders, fibroids, polyps, and treating endometriosis with minimally invasive surgical approaches, including laparoscopy, robotic-assisted laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy.

Dr. Destephano earned his medical degree at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, followed by a Master of Public Health from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta, Georgia. He then completed his residency in gynecology and obstetrics at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. DeStephano has been active in medical and surgical education through his work on the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists Simulation Working Group. He was awarded the Mayo Clinic Education Science Career Development Award, and has received awards for education research from the Council of Residency Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the AAGL Global Congress in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. DeStephano has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters that focus on a wide range of gynecologic research.
