Biographical summary
Benjamin D. Brakke, D.O., is an anesthesiologist who is fellowship trained in obstetric anesthesiology and critical care medicine. He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, and Critical Care Echocardiography. Dr. Brakke's leadership roles include serving as the Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine as well as the POCUS Education Director for the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Mayo Clinic Rochester.
Dr. Brakke enjoys a broad clinical practice. His areas of expertise include the care of pregnant and postpartum patients in the ICU setting, point-of-care ultrasound in the perioperative and intensive care settings, anesthesia for fetal surgery, cardiovascular surgery intensive care, anesthesia for patients with high-risk pregnancies, and hematology/oncology intensive care.
