Lyle Wesley Baker, M.D., F.A.S.N., F.A.C.P., C.H.S., is a nephrologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
His clinical focus and interests include:

- Encouraging and establishing a trusting and personal bond between patient and physician
- Evaluation and treatment of hypertension, including resistant hypertension

Dr. Baker is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and the American College of Physicians (FACP). He is a Certified Hypertension Specialist (CHS) as designated by the American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program. Dr. Baker is the Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic in Florida Comprehensive Hypertension Center which is certified by the American Heart Association (AHA). He specializes in treating acute kidney injuries, chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis, electrolyte disorders, resistant hypertension, and kidney stones.
He completed his nephrology fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He completed an internal medicine internship, residency, and chief residency at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Dr. Baker has authored and contributed to several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in his area of medicine. He has served in leadership positions on a state and national level for the Florida Society of Nephrology and American College of Physicians.
