Biographical summary
Matthew Augustine, M.D., was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, but spent the majority of his childhood growing up in the southeastern US, calling South Carolina home. He completed undergrad as well as medical school at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, prior to coming to the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Augustine has a strong interest in interventional oncology, with a focus on embolization therapies for the control of both benign and malignant tumors. He is also interested in the intersection and combination of embolization and percutaneous thermal ablation for the control of tumors.
Dr. Augustine also participates in the care of patients with lymphatic disorders, including those patients with lymphatic leaks after surgery. He is one of a subset of interventional radiologists who performs lymphangiography and thoracic duct embolization at the Mayo Clinic.
