Rochester construction updates Sixth Avenue Northwest/Southwest closure In January, underground infrastructure and utility work began on 6th Ave SW. The work is progressing in phases, closing 6th Ave to north-south through traffic until fall 2026. Starting Monday, March 17, a second section of utility work will begin closing 6th Ave SW from 2nd St SW to 3rd St SW. This second closure is in addition to the existing closure between Center St W and 1st St SW. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detours signs to avoid road closures.
