Rochester construction updates Sixth Avenue Northwest/Southwest closure Earlier this year underground infrastructure and utility work began on 6th Ave SW, progressing in phases. Starting Monday, April 21, utility work will extend south, closing 6th Ave SW from Center St West to 2nd St SW, including the 1st St SW intersection, to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic until early 2026. The phase of construction south of 2nd St SW, at the intersection of 6th Ave SW and 3rd St SW, which closed in March, is expected to reopen in mid-May.
