Dr. Zahid is a clinician investigator. She is a board-certified (and recertified) cardiologist with specialty boards in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Her research expertise is in cell penetrating peptides as novel vectors for targeted drug delivery. She works with cardiac targeting peptides as well as lung targeting peptides to deliver established as well as novel drugs to these organs.

  • Congestive heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
  • Developing novel cardiac vectors for targeted delivery to heart muscle cells
  • Developing novel lung targeting vectors for targeted delivery to the lungs for conditions like Cystic Fibrosis and COPD
