Ryan J. Uitti, M.D., is a professor and consultant in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where he has served since 1994. He was promoted to full professor of neurology in 2003 in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine (now Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science) and is a fellow of the American Neurological Association and American Academy of Neurology.

He is an international expert on Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. He has had an active research career and received funding from the National Institutes of Health for his work for many years. He has been principal investigator in surgical and pharmacological trials and published >350 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and editorials. He has made >200 presentations at national or international meetings and given additional invited lectures. Dr. Uitti served on the initial and current editorial board for Parkinsonism & Related Disorders and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Neurology/International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders. Dr. Uitti also serves as associate editor for Neurology from 2006-2021.

The former chair of the Department of Neurology and medical director for the Center for the Sciences of Health Care Delivery at Mayo Clinic's campus in Florida, he now serves as the medical director of the Mayo Clinic Care Network and the Mayo Clinic Platform.
