Biographical summary
Dr. Laudanski has extensive proficiency in illnesses treated in the Neuro, Heart & Vascular, and Trauma Intensive Care Unit. His clinical and research interests is focused on:
- Dysregulation of DNA expression in survivors after critical care illnesses (sepsis, trauma, COVID-19, TBI, PTSD, surgery) that serves as a severe insult, potentially reprograming the immune system
long-term in some individuals. Subsequently, the acquired, chronic, low-grade inflammation may emerge and accelerate degenerative illnesses, hindering the recovery of presurgical homeostasis and better health overall.
- Medical decision-making — Dr. Laudanski studies how to balance the strengths of the human decision-making process with application computer aids, artificial intelligence, and organizational
modifications.
- Bias in healthcare delivery — Dr. Laudanski studies patient-related variables, community circumstances, and hospital-based factors driving racial differences.
- Implementation of innovative techniques and workflow in healthcare — Dr. Laudanski is particularly interested in tele-ICU, artificial intelligence, lean design in medicine, de-implementation in the
context of wearable devices, and alternative models of health care delivery.
- Mentorship — His past mentees work at various academic positions (Stanford, Yale), private companies (Merck), or were awarded prestigious scholarships (NSF).

Interests
My clinical and research interests aim at deploying next-generation genetic tools to determine mechanisms of immune performance underpinning metaflammation after critical insults to the human body. I establish how protracted, genome-driven immuno-aberrations result in accelerated progression of aging, senescence, and other suboptimal long-term outcomes in survivors of critical care illness. My
long-term clinically oriented goal is to identify an FDA-approved compound's ability to extinguish chronic inflammation in survivors of critical care illness for a subsequent clinical trial.
