Joao Horvat , M.D.

Dr. Joao Horvat is a fellowship-trained breast radiologist with expertise in digital mammography, tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography, molecular breast imaging, breast ultrasound, MRI and image-guided procedures. Dr. Horvat had over 12 years of experience in the field of breast imaging before joining Mayo Clinic in 2024. Dr. Horvat has mentored medical students, residents and fellows in different academic institutions in Brazil and in the United States. He has published original research articles in many renowned journals and has presented his work in several scientific meetings worldwide. His research is focused on the evaluation of breast tumors on breast MRI, tomosynthesis and contrast-enhanced mammography.
