Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blindness
  2. bloody eye
  3. bloody urine
  4. blurred vision
  5. body aches or pain
  6. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  7. change or loss of vision
  8. chills
  9. cough
  10. decreased amount of urine
  11. diarrhea
  12. disturbed color perception
  13. ear congestion
  14. eye pain, irritation
  15. fever
  16. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  17. halos around lights
  18. headache
  19. increased blood pressure
  20. increased thirst
  21. joint pain
  22. loss of appetite
  23. loss of voice
  24. lower back or side pain
  25. muscle aches and pains
  26. nausea
  27. night blindness
  28. overbright appearance of lights
  29. pain or tenderness around eyes and cheekbones
  30. pale skin
  31. redness of the eye
  32. seeing floating dark spots or material before the eyes
  33. seeing floating spots before the eyes, or a veil or curtain appearing across part of vision
  34. shivering
  35. sore throat
  36. stuffy or runny nose
  37. sweating
  38. swelling of the face, fingers, hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  39. tearing of the eyes
  40. trouble breathing
  41. trouble sleeping
  42. tunnel vision
  43. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  44. unusual bleeding or bruising
  45. unusual tiredness or weakness
  46. vomiting
  47. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  48. weight gain

Less common

  1. Chest tightness
  2. cough producing mucus
  3. difficulty in moving
  4. dizziness
  5. fainting
  6. fast or irregular heartbeat
  7. joint pain
  8. muscle stiffness
  9. redness, swelling, or itching of the eyelid
  10. redness of the white part of the eyes or inside of the eyelids
  11. sensitivity of the eye to light

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. confusion
  3. difficulty in speaking
  4. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  5. inability to speak
  6. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back or neck
  7. slow speech

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. heartburn

Less common

  1. Slow wound healing
