Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain, cramping, or burning
  2. bloody or black, tarry stools
  3. bloody urine
  4. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  5. diarrhea
  6. heartburn or indigestion
  7. increased thirst
  8. loss of appetite
  9. lower back or side pain
  10. nausea or vomiting
  11. severe stomach pain
  12. swelling of the face, fingers, or lower legs
  13. trouble breathing
  14. unusual tiredness or weakness
  15. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  16. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. confusion
  4. difficulty with speaking
  5. double vision
  6. fever or chills
  7. headache
  8. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  9. inability to speak
  10. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  11. red skin lesions
  12. slow speech
  13. sores or ulcers on the skin
  14. sweating

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  2. dizziness
  3. pain at the injection site
