Born and raised in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, Dr. Zamora-Martinez received her medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 1996. She completed postdoctoral training in interstitial lung disease at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) between 2004 and 2006. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center at El Paso in 2013, and her fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in 2016.

She is the Medical Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic at the Mayo Clinic Arizona, where she treats patients with, among other conditions, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, familiar pulmonary fibrosis, short telomere biology, collagen vascular disease associated ILD, hypersensitivity pneumonitis and diffuse cystic lung diseases.

She is the co-director of the autoimmune ILD Clinic, where she collaborates with rheumatologists to diagnose and manage patients with this condition in real time.
