Biographical summary
Benjamin L. Wright, M.D., is an Allergist and Clinical Immunologist. His clinical focus includes:
- Expertise in management of food allergy and eosinophilic esophagitis
- Complex coordination of care with gastroenterology providers and dieticians for treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis
- Interpretation of skin prick tests, serum IgE testing, spirometry and immune labs.
- Evaluation of patients with recurrent infections and diagnosis of primary immunodeficiency disorders.
- Educating patients regarding the immunologic mechanisms underlying allergic disease and immunodeficiency.
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Wright is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows. He is an Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and is a lecturer for the immunology course. His research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of eosinophilic esophagitis and enhancing diagnostic and treatment approaches to eosinophil-associated diseases. Dr. Wright provides expert content and publishes in high-impact scientific journals.
Dr. Wright also maintains privileges at Phoenix Children's Hospital and serves as a clinical advisor to the Arizona Department of Health Services for newborn screening for severe combined immunodeficiency. His advocacy efforts also focus on management and anaphylaxis in school systems.
