Biographical summary
Satomi Shiraishi, Ph.D., is a medical physicist in radiation oncology with specialty interests in patient outcomes studies and image-guided radiation therapy. Her focus includes:
- Facilitate safe and effective delivery of proton beam-based radiation therapy
- Conduct studies to enhance understanding of radiation therapy side effects
- Using imaging techniques, develop methods to evaluate and minimize daily variation of patient setup which could negatively affect radiation therapy effectiveness
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Shiraishi is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows.
