C. Christopher Hook, M.D., associate professor of medicine, has expertise in hematology, oncology, and bioethics. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1984, and completed his residency and fellowship training in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Dr. Hook has received numerous honors and awards, such as the Harrison Lectureship, the A. Kurt Weiss Lectureship, and the invitation to the White House to attend President Bush's address on human cloning. He has served in various academic and professional roles, such as the director of ethics education committee, the senior fellow of the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity, and the member of the Advisory Committee for Genetics, Health, and Society.

Additionally, Dr. Hook has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles on topics such as thrombotic microangiopathy, and stem cell research.
