Stephanie L. Hansel, M.D., M.S., is a gastroenterologist, with clinical interests in general gastroenterology and capsule endoscopy. Her clinical focus includes:

  • Expertise in management of common gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Providing complex care to hospitalized patients on the primary Gastroenterology service.
  • Interpreting images obtained from capsule endoscopy and providing recommendations for next steps in patient care.
  • Performing routine endoscopic procedures.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Hansel is active in education and research. She is the current director to CME activities in the GIH Division. She strives to cultivate learning across a spectrum of learners from medical students to colleagues. Her research activities are focused in small bowel imaging working with colleagues from gastroenterology and radiology.
