David C. Fipps, D.O.

David Fipps, D.O., is an adult psychiatrist with specialty training in consultation-liaison psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. His clinical focus includes:

• Providing comprehensive consultation to ambulatory and hospitalized patients with mental health concerns in the context of complex medical comorbidities and/or addictive disorders.
• Assessment and management of psychiatric aspects of organ transplantation including pretransplant screening, psychopharmacology in organ failure, and quality of life issues following transplantation.
• Assessment and management psychiatric aspects of bariatric surgery including presurgical evaluations, perioperative mental health concerns, and psychopharmacology as it relates to restrictive and malabsorptive surgical procedures.

In addition, Dr. Fipps is active in both research and education. He provides mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and publishes in high impact scientific journals.
