Biographical summary
Dr. Oblizajek is motivated in clinically connecting with patients and advancing understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. He is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, then medical school at the University of Toledo (Toledo, OH) he pursued internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and an advanced gastrointestinal motility fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Rochester, MN).
Dr. Oblizajek's clinical expertise is in general gastroenterology and gastrointestinal motility including gastroparesis, functional dyspepsia, chronic constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome and other disorders of gut-brain interaction. His research interests involve the intersection of bioelectronic medicine with gastrointestinal symptom diagnostics and management. In addition, he has significant background in research on the diagnosis and management of anorectal sensorimotor dysfunction.
