Biographical summary
Dr. Thompson is board certified in both PM&R and ABEM and has a split assignment between the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Owatonna. His clinical focus is in musculoskeletal, spine, amputee and neuromuscular disease.
- Conservative management of musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoarthritis (spine & extremities), tendinopathy
- Conservative management of neuromuscular disorders, including cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, spinal stenosis
- Rehabilitation/prosthetic management for patients with upper and lower extremity amputations
- Promoting patients' understanding of the underlying cause of their musculoskeletal or neurologic symptoms
- Educating and empowering patients to become partners in managing their symptoms
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Thompson is active in research and providing education to residents and medical students.
