Cedric J. Ortiguera M.D., is an Assistant Professor and Consultant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Florida. Dr. Ortiguera specializes in Sports Surgery and Adult Reconstruction, and has special interests in advanced arthroscopy and reconstruction of the knee and shoulder. He treats all disorders of the knee and shoulder, including: meniscus, cartilage and ligament injuries of the knee, patellar instability, arthritis of the knee (including robotic-arm assisted partial and total knee replacement), labral tears and instability of the shoulder, rotator cuff tears, arthritic conditions of the shoulder.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude from State University of New York Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from New York University School of Medicine in New York, New York. Dr. Ortiguera received his orthopedic surgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Ortiguera has authored numerous scientific publications, contributed authorship to several books, and has served as Chair of the Surgical Society within the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida and currently is a Member of the Personnel Committee at Mayo Clinic Florida. He serves on the Oral Examination Committee for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
