Biographical summary
Kristin Karim, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in hand surgery. Her clinical interests include:
- Finger, hand, and forearm trauma including revascularization and replantation for traumatic amputations, fracture fixation, and repair of injured tendons, ligaments, nerves, vessels
- Carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, including minimally invasive (endoscopic) carpal tunnel release surgery
- Surgical treatment of arthritis of the fingers, hand, and wrist, including fusions and joint replacements
- Management of Dupuytren's contractures with both injections and surgery
- Bone health and fragility fractures, particularly in post-menopausal women
- Management of soft tissue and bony masses
- Caring for upper extremity pathology in patients of all ages, pediatric to geriatric
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Karim conducts clinical outcomes research and enjoys mentoring college and medical students, residents, and fellows.
