Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blood in the urine
  3. blurred or double vision
  4. confusion
  5. coughing up blood
  6. cracked lips
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  9. difficulty with walking
  10. dizziness
  11. drooping eyelids
  12. headache, sudden, severe
  13. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  14. jaw pain
  15. nausea and vomiting
  16. nosebleeds
  17. numbness or tingling in the fingers and toes
  18. pain in the fingers and toes
  19. paralysis
  20. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  21. red or black, tarry stools
  22. red or dark brown urine
  23. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips, tongue, or inside the mouth
  24. weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Absent, missed, or irregular menstrual periods
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. bloated stomach
  4. chest tightness
  5. cough or hoarseness
  6. discouragement
  7. fast heartbeat
  8. feeling sad or empty
  9. fever or chills
  10. hives or welts, itching, or skin rash
  11. inability to move the legs or arms
  12. irritability
  13. joint or muscle pain
  14. lack of appetite
  15. loss of interest or pleasure
  16. lower back or side pain
  17. pain and fullness in the right upper abdomen or stomach
  18. painful or difficult urination
  19. pale skin
  20. paralysis of one side of the body
  21. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  22. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  23. red, irritated eyes
  24. redness of the skin
  25. stopping of menstrual bleeding
  26. trouble breathing
  27. trouble concentrating
  28. trouble sleeping
  29. unusual bleeding or bruising
  30. unusual tiredness or weakness
  31. weight gain
  32. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  2. deafness
  3. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
  4. loss of appetite
  5. loss or thinning of the hair
  6. pain at the injection site
  7. stomach pain
  8. stopping of menstrual bleeding
  9. weight loss
