Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Chest pain
  2. confusion
  3. diarrhea (continuing or severe)
  4. fainting
  5. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat (continuing or severe)
  6. headache (continuing or severe)
  7. nausea or vomiting (continuing or severe)
  8. shortness of breath or troubled breathing
  9. stomach cramps or pain
  10. tiredness or weakness (continuing or severe)
  11. trembling or shaking (continuing or severe)
  12. trouble seeing (continuing or severe)

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Chills
  2. cough
  3. diarrhea
  4. feeling of warmth or heat
  5. fever
  6. flushing or redness of skin especially on face and neck
  7. increased need to urinate
  8. indigestion
  9. joint pain
  10. muscle aches and pains
  11. nausea
  12. passing urine more often
  13. runny nose
  14. unusual tiredness or weakness
  15. Sweating

Less common or rare

  1. fast heartbeat
  2. headache
  3. holding more body water
  4. swelling of face, fingers, ankles, or feet
  5. trembling or shaking
  6. trouble swallowing
  7. trouble seeing
  8. unusual weak feeling
  9. voice change
  10. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
