Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. bladder pain
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. body aches or pain
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. deep or fast breathing with dizziness
  8. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  9. difficulty with breathing
  10. difficulty with swallowing
  11. dry mouth
  12. ear congestion
  13. fever
  14. frequent urge to urinate
  15. headache
  16. inability to sit still
  17. irregular heartbeat
  18. irritability
  19. loss of balance control
  20. loss of voice
  21. lower back or side pain
  22. mask-like face
  23. need to keep moving
  24. nervousness
  25. numbness of the feet, hands, and around the mouth
  26. restlessness
  27. runny or stuffy nose
  28. shaking
  29. shuffling walk
  30. slowed movements
  31. slurred speech
  32. sneezing
  33. sore throat
  34. stiffness of the arms and legs
  35. tic-like (jerky) movements of the head, face, mouth, and neck
  36. trembling and shaking of the fingers and hands
  37. trouble with sleeping
  38. twitching, twisting, uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
  39. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. difficulty with speaking
  3. dizziness
  4. drooling
  5. inability to move the eyes
  6. increase in body movements
  7. increased blinking or spasms of the eyelid
  8. loss of balance control
  9. muscle trembling, jerking, or stiffness
  10. pounding in the ears
  11. slow or fast heartbeat
  12. sticking out of the tongue
  13. uncontrolled movements, especially of the face, neck, and back
  14. uncontrolled twisting movements of the neck, trunk, arms, or legs
  15. unusual facial expressions

Incidence not known

  1. Change in mental status
  2. chest tightness
  3. decrease in the amount and frequency of urination
  4. difficulty speaking
  5. hives, itching, skin rash
  6. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  7. loss of bladder control
  8. pale color of the skin
  9. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  10. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  11. seizures
  12. severe constipation
  13. severe vomiting
  14. stomach pain
  15. swollen tongue
  16. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. constipation
  3. diarrhea
  4. difficulty with moving
  5. dry mouth
  6. increased weight
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. muscle pains, cramps, or stiffness
  9. nausea
  10. nightmares
  11. pain and swelling in the joints
  12. pain in the arms or legs
  13. tearing of the skin
  14. toothache
  15. upper abdominal or stomach pain
  16. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Sleepwalking
