Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. body aches or pain
  6. chills
  7. cough
  8. diarrhea
  9. ear congestion
  10. fever
  11. headache
  12. loss of voice
  13. pale skin
  14. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  15. rapid weight gain
  16. sneezing
  17. sore throat
  18. stuffy or runny nose
  19. tingling of the hands or feet
  20. trouble breathing
  21. unusual bleeding or bruising
  22. unusual tiredness or weakness
  23. unusual weight gain or loss

Less common

  1. Bloody eye
  2. lower back or side pain
  3. painful or difficult urination
  4. redness of the eye
  5. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  6. unusual bleeding or bruising

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. confusion
  3. coughing up blood
  4. difficulty in speaking
  5. dizziness
  6. double vision
  7. fainting
  8. general feeling of illness
  9. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  10. inability to speak
  11. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  12. irregular heartbeat recurrent
  13. nausea
  14. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  15. paralysis
  16. persistent non-healing sore
  17. pink growth
  18. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  19. red or dark brown urine
  20. reddish patch or irritated area
  21. shiny bump
  22. slow speech
  23. sweating
  24. swollen glands
  25. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area
  26. vomiting
  27. weight loss
  28. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area
  29. yellow skin and eyes

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bloody nose
  2. itching skin
