Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. blurred vision
  4. bone, joint, or muscle pain
  5. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  6. change or loss of taste
  7. chest tightness
  8. chills
  9. constipation
  10. cough
  11. depressed mood
  12. diarrhea
  13. difficulty in moving
  14. dizziness
  15. dry skin and hair
  16. fainting
  17. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  18. feeling cold
  19. feeling of warmth
  20. fever
  21. hair loss
  22. headache
  23. hoarseness or husky voice
  24. itching
  25. loss of appetite
  26. muscle cramps and stiffness
  27. nausea
  28. nervousness
  29. palpitations
  30. red, irritated eyes
  31. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  32. redness, swelling, pain of the skin
  33. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  34. sore throat
  35. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  36. tingling of the hands and feet
  37. trouble breathing
  38. ulceration of the skin
  39. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  40. unusual tiredness or weakness
  41. vomiting
  42. weight gain
  43. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Less common

  1. Chest pain
  2. dark urine
  3. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  4. light-colored stools
  5. pain
  6. sensitivity to heat
  7. stomach cramps
  8. sweating
  9. tenderness
  10. thickening of bronchial secretions
  11. trouble sleeping
  12. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  13. watery or bloody diarrhea
  14. weight loss
  15. yellow eyes and skin

Rare

  1. Bloating
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. change in vision
  4. darkening of the skin
  5. drowsiness
  6. eye pain
  7. fruity breath odor
  8. increased hunger, thirst, and urination
  9. indigestion
  10. mental depression
  11. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  12. redness of the eye
  13. sensitivity of the eyes to light
  14. skin rash
  15. swelling of the face, feet, or lower legs
  16. tearing

Incidence not known

  1. Feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  2. lightheadedness
  3. sensation of spinning
  4. very deep pain in the eyes

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Stuffy or runny nose
  2. swelling or inflammation of the mouth

Incidence not known

  1. Increase in blood flow to the whites of the eyes
  2. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  3. seeing floating spots before the eyes or a veil or curtain appearing across a part of vision
