Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps or tenderness
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. bloating
  4. bloody or cloudy urine
  5. blurred or double vision
  6. chills
  7. cough
  8. cracks in the skin
  9. dark urine
  10. diarrhea, watery and severe, which may also be bloody
  11. difficulty with swallowing
  12. dizziness
  13. eye pain
  14. fast heartbeat
  15. fever
  16. general tiredness and weakness
  17. greatly decreased frequency of urination or amount of urine
  18. hives, itching, or rash
  19. increased thirst
  20. joint or muscle pain
  21. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  22. light-colored stools
  23. loss of heat from the body
  24. nausea or vomiting
  25. pain
  26. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  27. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  28. red, irritated eyes
  29. red, swollen skin
  30. scaly skin
  31. seizures
  32. severe headache
  33. severe stomach pain
  34. sore throat
  35. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  36. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  37. tightness in the chest
  38. trouble breathing
  39. unusual tiredness or weakness
  40. unusual weight loss
  41. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  42. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  4. difficulty with moving
  5. difficulty with swallowing
  6. discoloration of the nail, tooth, or gum
  7. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  8. hearing loss
  9. heartburn
  10. indigestion
  11. loss of appetite
  12. muscle pain or stiffness
  13. pain or redness at the injection site
  14. redness, swelling, or soreness of the tongue
  15. stomach discomfort or upset
  16. thick, white, or curd-like vaginal discharge
  17. weight loss
