Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. blurred or loss of vision
  4. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  5. chills
  6. cold sweats
  7. coma
  8. confusion
  9. cool, pale skin
  10. cough
  11. darkening of the skin
  12. decrease blood pressure
  13. deepening of voice
  14. diarrhea
  15. difficulty in speaking
  16. difficulty swallowing
  17. disturbed color perception
  18. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  19. double vision
  20. drooling
  21. dysphoria
  22. false or unusual sense of well-being
  23. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  24. fever
  25. halos around lights
  26. headache
  27. hives, itching, skin rash
  28. increase blood pressure
  29. increased hair growth
  30. increased hunger
  31. increased muscle mass
  32. increased sensitivity to pain
  33. loss of appetite
  34. loss of balance control
  35. mental depression
  36. muscle trembling, jerking, or stiffness
  37. nausea
  38. nervousness
  39. nightmares
  40. night blindness
  41. overactive reflexes
  42. overbright appearance of lights
  43. poor coordination
  44. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  45. restlessness
  46. redness to the face
  47. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  48. seizures
  49. shakiness
  50. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, and feet
  51. shivering
  52. shuffling walk
  53. slow or irregular heartbeat
  54. slurred speech
  55. stiffness of the limbs
  56. sweating
  57. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  58. trembling or shakiness of the hands or feet
  59. trouble breathing
  60. tunnel vision
  61. twisting movements of the body
  62. twitching
  63. uncontrolled movements, especially of the face, neck, and back
  64. uncoordinated muscle movements
  65. unusual tiredness or weakness
  66. vomiting
  67. worsening of pain

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. change or loss of consciousness
  4. chest pain or discomfort
  5. chills
  6. cold, clammy skin
  7. cold sweats
  8. coma
  9. confusion
  10. constricted pupils
  11. cool, pale skin
  12. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  13. difficult or trouble breathing
  14. headache
  15. increased hunger
  16. increased sweating
  17. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
  18. lightheadedness, dizziness or fainting
  19. nausea
  20. nervousness
  21. nightmares
  22. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  23. seizures
  24. shakiness
  25. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  26. slow or irregular heartbeat
  27. slurred speech
  28. swelling in the legs and ankles
  29. trouble breathing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Constipation
  2. decrease in frequency of urination
  3. decrease in urine volume
  4. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  5. dry mouth
  6. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  7. pain at the injection site
  8. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  9. severe sunburn
  10. painful urination

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
