Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Bloody stools
  2. burning feeling in the chest or stomach
  3. changes in facial skin color
  4. chest tightness
  5. cough
  6. diarrhea
  7. difficulty with swallowing
  8. fast or irregular breathing
  9. fever
  10. frequent urge to urinate
  11. heartburn
  12. inability to urinate
  13. irregular heartbeat
  14. lightheadedness or dizziness
  15. loss of bladder control
  16. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  17. ringing or buzzing in the ears
  18. trouble breathing
  19. skin rash, hives, or itching
  20. stomach pain or tenderness
  21. visual disturbances
  22. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. confusion
  3. darkening of the skin
  4. difficulty swallowing
  5. dizziness
  6. fainting
  7. fever
  8. increased sensitivity to pain
  9. loss of appetite
  10. mental depression
  11. nausea
  12. overactive reflexes
  13. poor coordination
  14. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  15. restlessness
  16. shivering
  17. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  18. trembling or shaking
  19. twitching
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness
  21. vomiting
  22. worsening of pain

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. cold or clammy skin
  3. confusion
  4. difficulty hearing or ringing or buzzing in the ears
  5. dizziness
  6. general feeling of illness
  7. headache
  8. mood or mental changes
  9. nausea
  10. severe drowsiness
  11. severe stomach pain
  12. skin rash
  13. slow heartbeat
  14. stiff neck or back
  15. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  16. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. constipation
  3. dry mouth
  4. gas
  5. increased sweating
  6. nervousness
  7. pounding heartbeat
  8. sleepiness
  9. trouble in sleeping

Rare

  1. Decreased appetite
  2. decrease in sexual ability
  3. headache
  4. heartburn
  5. increased thirst
  6. irritability
  7. mood or mental changes
  8. mouth ulcers
  9. pain or burning in the throat
  10. runny nose
  11. sensation of burning, warmth, heat, numbness, tightness, or tingling
  12. slurred speech
  13. stomach upset
  14. thinking abnormalities
  15. unexplained weight loss
  16. unusual feeling of well-being
