Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Chills
  2. cold sweats
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  5. fainting

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. changes in behavior
  3. chest pain
  4. cough
  5. difficulty breathing
  6. fast heartbeat
  7. fever with or without chills
  8. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  9. high fever
  10. hoarseness
  11. inability to move the eyes
  12. increased blinking or spasms of the eyelid
  13. increased sweating
  14. lip smacking or puckering
  15. loss of bladder control
  16. lower back or side pain
  17. painful or difficult urination
  18. puffing of the cheeks
  19. rapid or worm-like movements of the tongue
  20. seizures
  21. severe muscle stiffness
  22. sore throat
  23. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  24. sticking out of the tongue
  25. swollen glands
  26. thoughts of killing oneself
  27. trouble breathing, speaking, or swallowing
  28. uncontrolled chewing movements
  29. uncontrolled movements of the arms and legs
  30. uncontrolled twisting movements of the neck, trunk, arms, or legs
  31. unusual bleeding or bruising
  32. unusual facial expressions
  33. unusual tiredness or weakness
  34. unusually pale skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Belching
  2. headache
  3. heartburn
  4. inability to sit still
  5. indigestion
  6. muscle aches
  7. need to keep moving
  8. restlessness
  9. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  10. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  11. stuffy or runny nose
  12. weight gain

Less common

  1. Bloated or full feeling
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. blurred vision
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement
  6. difficulty with moving
  7. dizziness
  8. dry mouth
  9. excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels
  10. fear or nervousness
  11. frequent urge to urinate
  12. increased appetite
  13. increased sweating
  14. joint pain
  15. muscle ache, cramp, pain, or stiffness
  16. passing gas
  17. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  18. swollen joints
  19. trouble sleeping
