Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  2. severe mental changes
  3. trouble breathing

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning while urinating
  4. chest pain or tightness
  5. chills
  6. cough or hoarseness
  7. decreased ability to exercise
  8. depression
  9. difficult or labored breathing
  10. difficult or painful urination
  11. dizziness
  12. fainting
  13. false or unusual sense of well-being
  14. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  15. fear or nervousness
  16. fever with or without chills
  17. frequent urination
  18. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  19. headache
  20. inability to speak
  21. increased volume of pale, dilute urine
  22. lower back or side pain
  23. nosebleeds
  24. numbness or tingling in the face, arms, or legs
  25. restlessness
  26. seizures
  27. severe or sudden headache
  28. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  29. slurred speech
  30. sore throat
  31. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  32. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  33. swollen glands
  34. temporary blindness
  35. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  36. twitching, twisting, or uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
  37. unusual bleeding or bruising
  38. unusual tiredness or weakness
  39. vision problems
  40. weakness in the arm or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Bigger, dilated, or enlarged pupils (black part of the eye)
  2. change in consciousness
  3. confusion
  4. diarrhea
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  6. increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  7. loss of consciousness
  8. nausea
  9. overactive reflexes
  10. panic
  11. physical attempt to injure
  12. restlessness
  13. stomach cramps
  14. sweating
  15. violent actions
  16. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Bruising
  2. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  3. drowsiness
  4. dry mouth
  5. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  6. hair loss
  7. headache
  8. hives or welts
  9. indigestion
  10. itching
  11. large, flat, blue, or purplish patches in the skin
  12. loss of appetite
  13. muscle pain
  14. passing of gas
  15. redness of the skin
  16. skin rash
  17. sleeplessness
  18. stomach fullness or discomfort
  19. trouble sleeping
  20. unable to sleep
  21. unpleasant taste

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
