Jorge F. Trejo Gutierrez, M.D., M.H.S., is a general cardiologist who serves as a consultant in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

He has a special interest and expertise in preventive cardiology. His areas of expertise include:

  • Chest pain evaluation
  • Medical management of angina
  • The evaluation and management of the causal risk factors for atherosclerosis
  • Early detection of atherosclerosis
  • Effects of lifestyle and pharmacologic interventions of dyslipidemias, high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes on heart health

His clinical and research careers have focused on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiometabolic disorders in adult populations with an emphasis in atherosclerotic vascular disease.
