Matthew Schultz, Ph.D., is an American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics certified laboratory geneticist in Biochemical Genetics and Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia and Ph.D at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The goal of his work and research is improved laboratory diagnosis and disease monitoring for individuals with inborn errors of metabolism including congenital disorders of glycosylation, lysosomal storage disorders, and disorders of complex molecule synthesis. He focuses on development of clinical laboratory tests, innovation in diagnostic methods, and biomarker discovery.
